Dear Members,

Photos were recently shared to BIGGSD showing two GSD’s in a truly pitiful condition.

You could not help shedding tears to see Ann, just skin and bones, a broken dog, beaten and used as a breeding machine, looking about to give up on life…..

and Alfa, who must have been in agony due to a chronic case of mange which had been left untreated for a considerable time, also beaten and dumped...

THESE DOGS NEED HELP!

Garbos GSD Rescue also saw the distressing photos and contacted us at BIGGSD and we have now agreed to join forces to help these dogs to a better life, once their injuries and wounds have healed.

They need to be brought over from Egypt, where they are currently based, to the UK where loving new homes will be found for them.

Garbos GSD Rescue have also discovered there is a third German Shepherd, also found in a terrible state and currently being treated for severe wounds, now on a slow road to recovery.

To bring three GSD's over from Egypt is expensive but must be done. With this in mind, other individuals (listed below) have donated or offered to donate, to help with the costs.

Pam Williams
kindly donated to Garbo's and would like the funds to be used to help Alfa. Pam, sadly, lost her life after a long illness, not long afer her beloved Lucas was pts. A lovely lad who came over from Ireland as a youngster, with a very severe condition of mange, some 10 years ago. In memory of Pam and Lucas, Alfa will be renamed Lucas.

Henna Nuutinen, a European Rescuer that we have worked with before and dedicates her life to saving so many dogs is doing a fundraiser to help with travel costs.

Carmen Blanco Montero is also busy trying to raise funds. Carmen has fostered dogs for GSD South and Many Tears Rescue and has kindly also offered to foster Ann.

Funding is also coming from the BIGGSD fund and Garbos German Dog Shepherd Rescue.

We are in difficult times, I know, but should anyone care to donate towards the costs involved, even a pound, it would be greatly appreciated.

Payment can be made via PayPal to christine@biggsd.com reference AAG in Egypt.

If using PayPal PLEASE change "paying for an item" to "sending to a friend or family". This ensures we do NOT pay charges on funds received.

Anne Willis from Garbos GSD Rescue comments ......

This is after just two weeks!!! You can see already how the skin is looking less raw.

This is the update from the Egyptian Rescue... So far so good, they are slowly improving. Mange is a very resistant skin condition. In one month you will see a difference.

Thank you to everyone that has donated so far. By all working together, we can give these three dogs the happiness and love they thoroughly deserve xxx

The three dogs are continuing to improve in Egypt and the rescue has indicated that they will be fit to travel around end of July.

They are still receiving medication due to the terrible body condition when found.

Thank you to everyone who donated for Ann, Lucas and Giro. Without your help, it would be very difficult to bring these beautiful dogs over to the UK.

More updates to follow.

After continuous delays due to COVID, the dogs finally arrived at Garbos in late November!

And what beautiful dogs they were too!

Ann, Digo, Lucas and Candy have all gone on to find loving new homes in the UK, which could not have been possible without help from members donating to the BIGGSD fund.

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who supported our campaign to get these dogs out of a terrible country, where all animals are tortured and abused on a daily basis by ingorant people who know no better.

Thankfully, these 4 dogs are now safe in the UK, after suffering terrific cruelty.

They are now living the life every dog should have.
