THE COVID-19 WAR - JANUARY 2020 - inifity

On 23rd March, the whole country was instructed to stay at home to avoid a new deadly invisible killer - the COVID-19 VIRUS!

But, as usual, there are always some folks who ignore good advice, which spurred Surrey Police to issue the following poem;

"The majority of you are listening
which is really great to see;
however, some of our community
are really taking the pee.

Unless for essential reasons
at home you must stay;
Or you'll get a ticket with a fine
which you'll going to have to pay.

And a threat of a fine shouldn't be where we're at
Because if 900+ deaths a day hasn't put you off,
you're a monumental prat!"

So we all did what we were told and STAYED AT HOME - enduring nearly 8 weeks of LOCKDOWN!

At first it was hard and many people missed meeting up for the BIGGSD Sunday Walks - as did the furbies. And so people started to message each other, just to keep in touch and then one long standing BIGGSD member, namely Janet, came up with the ingenious idea of forming a What's App Messaging group for BIGGSD members, which was great! Peoples' spirits became lifted as they could now share daily events and more importantly, send pictures of their furbies.

Here are some photos taken over the last few weeks of the going ons....from furbies chilling, to rogue tortoises on the run and brain teasers presented by again Janet, who seems to enjoy inflicting headache inducing puzzles on people!

So here goes.....

LISTEN FURBIES, We've go to keep the humans sane...get it...including you squirt!

Stay safe folks.

At the risk of ear ache from Christine.

IT TOOK LONG ENOUGH TO POST THESE!!!

Let's hope the walks restart soon.
Or we might forget were they are 👍🏻
And known to enjoy the occasional "cultural" weekend away - without the dogs

Lucky for you mate, I'm feeling mellow today.......Image

In actual fact, my PC went down with a virus - A BROADBAND VIRUS before you get your PPE gear on whilst reading this....

Anyway, the broadband speed was SO SLOW, it was taking 30 minutes to load up 1 photo!

Had to wait for a new router, which was sent back to EE because my house number had been omitted from the address...and Royal Mail couldnt find me...Image

So it arrived yesterday, by which time there were so many photos to look at and download, I got goggle-eyed! Image
But now we have some great photos to reflect on, showing how we all coped during the COVID-19 nightmare lockdown I don't know if it will ever completely be eradicated, by which time there will probably be another killer virus on the loose! Image

I think we've all done remarkably well and thank you everyone for your updates and photos.

Cath & Paul had better get their Mobile Cafe polished and re-stocked as I am sure the BIGGSD Sunday walks will soon be resumed!
