Maddie has come into rescue for not being good around other dogs which we haven't found this , she is brilliant around people and is very affectionate and loves being made a fuss of. She has lived with children but although she also lived with cats, these were kept separate from her and we think it would be best if she didn't go to a home with cats

Maddie is neutered and up to date with her vaccinations.

I think we need to revise the very reactive around other dog's.

Today Maddie joined us on the biggsd walk at Ockham common.
Initially she had a muzzle on when we left kennels. This was just to be safe as she was traveling in my car with my 3 :dogincar:
She did bark when getting in, but so was Charlie. Before we pulled away she was quiet and was good as gold all the way there.
At Ockham with in 5 minutes we had removed the muzzle. she was absolutely fine walking among the group of around 18 dog's.
She didn't even take any notice of other dog's not part of the group. She even sat patiently as we let horses pass.
She loves fuss. So many people came up to her to say hello and give her a cuddle.
The only thing that let her down slightly. Was when at the end and we were sitting and having a coffee, she wasn't keen on other dog's coming to close. I think she is just being protective of her humans, when she thinks we are vulnerable.
All in all I think today was very successful. It doesn't seem like she needs much work to become the super girl we know she is :angel GSD:

The very pretty young Maddie once again came to this weeks biggsd walk.
As you may have seen on the video clip, she had a spot of freedom.
I must add we don't normally let rescue dogs off lead.
Maddie is normally on my flexi lead. But at one point near the start of the walk, Charlie's long line got tangled in some bushes.
while I was trying to get him free Maddie jerked the lead out of my hand and ran on to Gordana.
She then started to come back to me.
So we took a chance and gave some free time. To be safe I attached her to a long line.
We were rewarded with a well behaved girl who joined in the adventures with the others.
As already been said her recall was excellent.
This young lady just keeps on getting better :angel GSD:

We had quite a few walker's today.
So I managed to take her for a couple of walks.
As usual she was good as gold, happily walking with my Yoshi and her new best mate Axel.
After watching her and Axel playing tag together in one of the runs.
I know I've said it before, but she is a super dog.
Someone is missing out on miss perfect.

Dropped by kennels this morning.
Liberated Maddie for a couple of hours.
Off we went to Epsom for today's biggsd walk.
As with the other times she's been the walks, she behaved perfectly. Maddie slots in so well with all the other dogs. I can't help but feel Maddie would love to live with another dog.

I'm so glad I picked Maddie up last Sunday for the biggsd walk.
It looks like the last time I'll be able to take her :cryingtissues:

My best girl left this afternoon for her new home with a lovely family.

C'n'me, always together

:yay: :yay: :yay:

Sounds like someone's got themselves a treasure!!

Didn't the previous folk think they'd need to manage the cat encounters to start :thud: ?? Took me 6 months to get Tasha and our older cat, Dusty, to be best friends - but they love each other now  Since then, we've taken in a 6 week old rescue kit (she's about 16 weeks now), Tasha's learnt to play gently with a tiny creature and they're inseparable :thumbs up:

Hope Maddie's new folk stay in touch
