:cryingtissues: Meet Alpha

Posted Image

Poor Alpha has just arrived at kennels. Alpha is 8 years old , She has been seriously neglected by her previous owners and is suffering from mange and fleas. She is also seriously underweight. Despite her bad treatment is she seems very sweet, although a little reactive to other dogs. She has virtually no hair on her body so we don't know what colour she is (we think black & tan) or how long her coat would be.

We urgently need a foster home for Alpha so that she can get some 1:1 care whilst she recovers. We have taken her to the vets and she is currently receiving treatment for her 'infestation'

If you are able to foster Alpha please contact Sue Gibbons on 01444 453302 between 11am and 7pm.

OMG you poor thing Alpha.
Sue said she was in a state!!
But that's terrible :so sad:
Some people need :machine gun:
Haven't they heard of vet's, if money was the problem surely they could have gone to the PDSA.
I hope they never get another dog or any animal.

:OMG:

Cases like this make me SO ******* MAD!!!!

There is just NO excuse for people to treat any dog like this. And I don't think it's down to vet's bills because quite clearly, poor Alpha is severely underweight too!

How on earth anyone living with this dog, watching it degenerate and do nothing until now is totally unacceptable. This situation did not just happen overnight. Alpha has suffered immensely and for over a long period of time. The owners should be prosecuted for animal cruelty - end of.

There are people on here, me included, who have taken on dogs with severe cases of mange and also malnourished, some nr to death, but with a lot of hard work and tlc the dogs have recovered and transformed beyond recognition.

With love and care, Alpha will do the same and return to the once beautiful dog she must have been.

I would take her if not for Kysa....... :hissyfit: and she needs some ME time to recover.

love2 love2 love2 love2 love2 love2

(Now give me the address of the parasite owners......
:machine gun: :machine gun:

From Alpha's foster mum

Hi everyone Alpha settled in well last night. Took a while to encourage her into the bedroom but she was very brave and made it to her bed. She slept all night dreaming lots ( I hope they were good dreams x) and boy does she snore . We are off out for a walk soon, Alpha keeps going to the front door so I think I better do as she wants lol Will update more in days to come xx

I would like to say a very very big thank you to Alpha's foster family :yay: :clapping:
Kennels aren't the best place for unwell dog's.
They do their best for them, but it's not the same as a home environment.
Love, good food and medical treatment she should bounce back fairly quickly. Her coat will take a bit longer.
Good luck now Alpha you're in safe hands.

I had a day off Wednesdays so it was off to kennels.
Which was really lucky as Alpha's foster mum popped over.
It was the first time I've seen her, other than in pictures.
It's only a week since she's been in foster, but now her skin isn't all red and inflamed. She's still very thin, but the 4 meal's a day should help to put some weight on. Sadly the hair will take longer.
She has such a sweet nature and loved all the attention she got.
It really choked me up, that in spite of all she's been through she's still so trusting.

So pleased for Alpha..... love2

She does look a gentle soul and still trusts us humans, even though she must have had a pretty rotten past life. That's dogs for you....and there's no heart bigger than a shep!

I was over kennels again today.
Alpha popped in again with her foster mum.
The difference again is nothing less than amazing.
She is still thin, but as you know you can't pile pounds on over night.
Well dog's don't unlike us peeps :lmao:
I managed to take a few pic's, I'll get Amanda (Fey) to post them for me :thumbs up:
