Molly has been returned to Vigil for the third time, due to illness :cryingtissues:

She is now 7 years old , black & tan short coat.

Molly originally came into Vigil in 2010 after a poor start in life during which time she was kept in a garage.

After coming to Vigil, she soon went to a home with a gentleman who unfortunately died a year later.

When returned to Vigil she was suffering from bad hips but she had an operation with 'supervet' Noel Fitzpatrick which seems to have totally solved the problem. The operation was kindly paid for by the family of her deceased custodian.

During the period around her operation Molly was in foster with another gentleman who went on to adopt her permanently. He too has fallen ill and Molly has been in kennels since then and we fear she will not be able to go back to that home.

7th November , Molly loves attention from all our volunteers walks lovely on a lead , friendly gentle girl , that loves a paddle

Awaiting an recent photo.
In kennels in Surrey.

The gorgeous Molly love2 escaped from the kennels this morning.
Dont panic !!!

It was just to join us for a few hours at Ockham on the biggsd walk.
She loved every minute, this was her first sunday out.
She was joined by Sid, Major, Teddy and George.
Well done everyone who helped walk them :clapping:
Its lovely watching them mix with 30 or so other dogs.

Theres a home out there for every dog

Hi All,

Just a quick note to let you know that we had a totally uneventful journey home both dogs cuddled up and slept the entire way home.

Molly ate up at meal time (Likes Chicken) and is a very dainty eater selecting a piece at a time and chews contentedly whilst Chester does his usual Dyson routine "One massive suck and lick" and thankfully no competitive eating.

Early days but its looking good, will keep you posted have a great Christmas.

Hi All,
Quick update on our Molly.
She has now integrated with the family well all except the cat and that is "Work in progress" we will succeed just like the toothless budgie. In the evening the cat is in a small dog crate and Molly is fascinated, time and patience will do the trick.
She is now off lead for most of the time at exercise and has superb recall.
Does anyone know if she has been involved in any type of service work I ask as she is very responsive to many commands used in this type of work, for instance "Empty=pees on command" "Dead = drops her retrieve/lets go" "Speak = barks on command" "Stop = halts anyone running away" "Watch = guards" "Find = gathers toys from garden" we will try to get her to track when out later in the summer if we get one that is. Any info greatly appreciated.
Grooming has to date removed a black bag of under coat and a fair bit of top she now weighs 41 Kg and has a waist at last and you can almost feel her ribs so we are almost there with her diet/exercise balance.
Thanks Vigil for my new best mate.

Latest photo of Molly. Sitting in her favourite position at the top of the stairs in her foster home.
She looks rather sad in this photo but she's definitely not!

That is such good news she really deserves a lovely home of her own - and now she's got one!
Russell and Diana (the fosterers) were absolutely fantastic - they are away on their hols but I will call them when they are back and let them know she's all good and safe. I will also let the son of the owner know. If there is any more news - maybe a photo I know that Jake(the son) would love that.
