When she was very young Sheba was a devil to get to eat. I tried her on every brand of dog food available, she'd eat the sample packs I got her but would then turn her nose up if I bought a 'proper' bag. Bakers was 1 I tried - more fool me. She did actually like the meaty chunks boxes so I used them as treats to get her to work for her food & get something into her.
1 of my husbands friends has a chocolate Lab & he was feeding him Bakers & he was hyper, nibbling arms, hands etc & bouncing all over the place. After having it drilled into him from Sian & myself just how :*****: it is Bob told the chap to change the food & took round a small bag of hypo allergenic food we had left after we lost Sheba. I am very pleased to say they have kept him off the Bakers :*****: & he has settled down into a wonderful, calm family dog that they are very proud of.
I must admit I have told people I've seen in supermarkets buying the stuff that they would have a much better dog if they didn't fill it full of all the :*****: in Bakers.

Patlucky
Would like to stay in bed like the other Pat does

In dry food on supermarket shelves Bakers has to be one of the worst.
The pretty colours must sell it.
As for tinned food the best is Chappie .

Rosie has to have special food for some tummy trouble she developed .
The people I get it off are excellent .
As she has some liver trouble I needed lowest fat food I could get.
They are aways so helpful.
When dogs are fed rubbish or high colours they get lots of wind . :stink:

Whose neighbours think The Wicker Man is a documentary
Never put the damned stuff near either of mine and blimmin' happy to admit it. I turned a couple of my dog walking clients away from it too and they noticed the difference very quickly.

The problem with articles like this is that s often they are preaching to the converted. If this message could be spread wider it would help a lot of dogs and their owners. Sadly, places like Battersea rely heavily on the sponsorship/help that companies like Pedigree give them, so thier hands are tied.

I am so surprised that this stuff still sells. I was warned about Bakers when my Zeus was just a puppy, which was 18yrs ago!! I never feed any of my animals food that is brightly coloured, unless of course it's fresh food. :)
