We are a small registered charity that rescue and re-home unwanted, abused and stray German Shepherd Dogs throughout the UK. The rescue is a non-profit organisation and is run entirely by unpaid volunteers, we rely on donations from sponsors and the general public to keep the rescue running. Our aim is to keep dogs in their own home, if possible, until a suitable new home is found or to place a dog in a foster home. We also use private boarding kennels for our dogs in matters of urgency.
All dogs that come into our rescue are fully assessed before they are put up for adoption, this involves an experienced volunteer visiting the dog in his home and assessing the dogs temperament. This allows us to match and place a dog in the correct environment.
We also take dogs from the pounds that are in danger of being euthanised, generally these dogs have to go into private kennels to be assessed before they are placed in foster/permanent homes. Our funds for caring for the pound dogs are very low, please help by making a donation. Big or small, every penny counts.
To adopt one of our dogs a homecheck will be carried out by one of our volunteers and certain criteria must be met, please see our adoption page or follow this link to complete an easy online form (adoption application).
Please have a look at our dogs looking for homes and urgent homes needed pages. Some of our dogs have been in kennels for a long time and would dearly love their forever homes or even a break in a foster home to experience what life is all about.
We urgently need volunteers for home checking, transportation, fundraising, dog assessment and especially foster homes, can you help? If you can, why not fill out an enquiries form or contact one of the admin team
