Yesterday I discovered that I could make donations via easyfundraising to BIGGSD when I buy from selected retailers on line as well as using it to search the internet Link top left hand side.

I searched various topics and found that it was pinned to one topic and mentioned in 2011. by ASTRALHAZE.

I signed up ordered Bears Food and donated 58p not much you may think but then I thought how many new members are completely unaware of this and if only half made the effort then much needed funds could be raised.

So come all you like me newbies and get signed up.

Many well known names are in the scheme including Amazon M & S ebay. Think of Christmas.!!

You beat me to it skydog. :yay: I was going to put up a reminder about easyfundraising.

Through our members using easyfundraising when buying goods on the internet over the years we have so far raised £4204.68. :funny little things:

Only 147 members out of 3534 members are currently supporting us through easyfundrasing and I'm sure that with more and more people buying things via the net now we could be raising a lot more.

How does it work?

Lots of companies will donate a percentage of what you spend via the internet to a given cause, Biggsd, in this case. They can do this because they get your business without the advertising costs normally involved in getting you interested.

Easyfundraisisng just provide the system for this to happen. There is no extra cost to you and any special offers the company is making are still available.

How to join in and help Biggsd. :whiteshep:

Click on the "easyfundraisisg" button on the banners at the top of the page and create your account. Make sure you choose "BIGGSD" as your chosen cause. Then go shopping.

I've found it easier to download the toolbar offered as it acts as a constant reminder at the top of your screen and constantly checks if the web site you at looking at offers donations for any purchases made from that site. If they do offer donations a green "activate donation" button appears at the top right hand side of your screen. Click on that and just carry on as normal. The company you buy from sends easyfundraising the donation then every 3 months easyfundraising deposits all the donations in our bank account. Simples.

You can also use the easyfundraising button as a search engine but this will only return companies that offer donations and you may miss out on a cheaper offer from a company who is not connected to easyfundraising. Every time you click through to a site from Easyfundraising, Biggsd get a very small donation, but it all adds up.

Do you renew your house, car insurance on line. Many insurance companies offer donations.
Do you have your groceries/food shopping delivered? The big 4 all donate.
Do you DIYers order materials and tools online. Screwfix donate even if you order online then collect in store. B&Q do the same I think.

Does your company order it's stationary on line. Companies like "Viking Direct" make donations. Chat up the purchaser in your company and ask if they will join easyfundraising and make BIGGSD their chosen cause.

:pats_rooster: Just think, every time you buy something on the internet you could also be helping a dog in need. :pats_rooster:

Good news the more people that sign up more money for the dogs :yay:

147 out of 3500 plus seems a very low percentage. Surely we can do better. On a positive note maybe members support other charities so the numbers may be higher.

I know people who run this site are volunteers and all have full time jobs so probably don't want extra work especially from a 'new boy' but there seems to be lack of awareness about this site. :thud:

How to increase this awareness is the question? A regular reminder say once a year Oct/ Nov to catch the Christmas rush.
Is it possible to contact members in a carefully worded PM.

Word of mouth on the Sunday walks different venues different faces as well as the regulars. Speak to people and tell them

Lets tap into this source of income and raise some serious dosh :pats_rooster:

Over the past two weeks we've been constructing a new shed. :yay: To eventually house Deb's sit on mower, when we have some grass to cut.

All the little extra bits required to finish it off have been ordered online from Wickes, Screwfix and B&Q. Click and collect is fantastic via easyfundraising.

Over £10.00 coming our way from things I needed to buy anyway. :funny little things:

And to top it off I got 23p added just because I used the easyfundraising search engine to compare the prices between the stores.

Win win all round. :thumbs up:

:funny little things: :funny little things: :funny little things: £95.50 :funny little things: :funny little things: :funny little things:

Yes that's £95.50 donated by companies you've been online shopping with in the last 3 months. Deposited in the account yesterday. :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

That means I can now transport a dog from Ireland or pay for a dog in emergency kennels for 10 days or bring a dog halfway from Spain or Greece.

All for the effort of a couple of more clicks when buying stuff on the internet.

A big thank you to those who make that effort!!! Somewhere there will be a dog whose life has been saved with just a couple of clicks.

Can we make it over £100.00 for the November payment. Join easyfundraising today and remember to search and buy online through the site. The dogs will get the money these companies give away.

Its that time of year when we dig deep into our pockets for the Christmas Season. Internet shopping becomes more popular each year. Amazon, Ebay and many big retail companies will donate a % of your spend to a charity (hopefully BIGGSD :yay: ).

To get this 'free ' money just register at easyfundraising , link top left corner and follow instructions its easy and costs you the customer nothing.

Arden Grange have a £5.00 off their Chic/rice bags if you buy the double bags ie 24 kilos for £55 not bad ah. :minigsd paw:

I discovered this site in Aug and so far both me and Pat have raised just under £10.00 on our normal purchases on Amazon. Not much you may think but with over 3000 members and under 200 subscribing we should be able to do better and raise more money. Come on all you people get signed up. :running GSD:

Get an invite from a member and get an extra £5 for BIGGS see earlier comments

:funny little things: WELL DONE :funny little things:

Every donation counts however large or small.

I use buy and collect the goods are at your chosen store in a day or so and you just collect. If not to your liking they refund the money straight away. M&S Hotter Shoes and a host of others offer this facility. Some of the D I Y stores you can collect in an hour :minigsd paw: The goods are in stock and ready at the checkout. :yay:

Spread the word amongst friends and relatives and lets do even better.

Again our supporters have been very busy, booking their summer holidays through easyfundraising

The summer hols have been kind to Biggsd to the tune of £135.23 :funny little things:

To everyone reading this. If you buy stuff on the internet please check on the easyfundraising site to see if that company donates.

I'm up to £50.00 from Screwfix just from ordering on line then picking the stuff up 10mins later at the shop. Click and collect is great. :yay:

I use the easyfundraising search tool so every time I go on a website it lets me know if it's registered with easyfundraising.

I believe if you register your credit card with E/F then using it in selected retailers will generate a donation of up to 5%. on the High Street :yay: Coffee Nero subscribe to this on your purchasers as do The Officers Club. A couple of coffees a day will soon add up!!

It seems to be in its infancy at the moment but once one starts other retailers will follow.

So people may feel ill at ease with registering the credit card which I understand . The decision is yours it depends on how secure you feel your details will be.

Details on how to register are on the E/F site.
