Teign Valley Glass For my birthday I asked Sian & Bob for a memorial to my Dad & Sheba that I'd seen online. Sian did some research & found Teign Valley Glass that make paper weights using some of the ashes from your loved one. We were going to mix the ashes but then Donna & my Mum gave me money towards it so we went for 2 paper weights. This is what mine look like. Sheba's is the blue & green on the left, Dad's is blue & red. ![]() ![]() ![]() The people Sian spoke to were very helpful & the service was very quick. We'd been told possibly 4 weeks & they arrived within 2! Some of the others we had looked at were much smaller products compared to these. |

What a lovely idea. I've got eight boxes of beloved furby ashes sitting on a shelf in my bedroom with a photo of each one in front. My family know that when I go I want them to open up the boxes and put the ashes loose in my 'box' so that when I am cremated my ashes mix with theirs. As I work for three priests deep down I know that it doesn't make any difference but the thought of my ashes mixing with my beloved dogs somehow takes the sting and fear out of death. The local Funeral Director who knows my wishes did hesitatingly ask if I have my horses cremated!! He was a bit concerned how big a box was going to be needed I reassured him that one has to be a bit more practical where horses are concerned and no, I don't have them individually cremated. But what you've done Coral has given me food for thought..... Hi Liz, It only takes a few spoonfuls of ashes in the paper weights so the rest of them can still go with you (as Sheba's will with me). I only have small amount of Dad's ashes (in the brown urn on the shelf next to Simba & Sheba's ashes in 1st pic) so was worried I wouldn't have enough but there was & wot they didn't use was sent back to me. Lol @ the horse ashes. I bet he was bricking it thinking he'd have to fit them in. |
