We attended the BIGGSD Vigil christmas party today, and what a successful, fun day it was!
So good to see so many shepherds running around playing, getting to know each other and interacting like shepherds do.

Was also lovely to meet everyone. You were all so kind and friendly to us and it was a pleasure!
We had the wonderful opportunity to walk two dogs, Rex and Rocky. Rex went to another handler at the party but Rocky stayed with us.

What a lovely dog! We were informed he has some issues from being a yard dog, but after half an hour and some careful handling, he started to calm down massively and towards the end we seen the dog that lays underneath that exciteable, hardened exterior.

He is a loving, sweet, adorable, loyal dog who wants to please and revels in working activities. He just needs to learn to be a dog from a dogs point of view again. Definitely a chance of a loving, compatible companion there who just needs a loving home. Was hard to say goodbye to him today!
We hope he finds a new home soon and to see him happy!

Hi there Stella :)
Sorry for the confusion but do you run VIGIL?
So many names today we can't keep track haha!

Rock has captured our hearts today, he's a lovely dog and we would be more than willing to help Rocky and his behaviour and find him a new home. ( We really wish we could have him!)

If there's anything we can help you or Treetops with, please don't hesitate to contact us. Our website is www.k9dc.co.uk and we will be willing to help as much as possible when we are free.

We had a wonderful time today and can't wait for the next event!

Hi Gareth and Natalie

I'm one of the Trustees of Vigil. It does get confusing as to who is what and who does what!! BIGGSD is an online forum where various GSD rescue charities come together and share information and news. It is not in itself a rescue organisation. Does this help or are you even more confused now?!!

Anyway, this afternoon was all in aid of Vigil GSD Rescue.

I'm so pleased you could see the true dog within Rocky. Yes, he is a special dog with particular needs and if you think you can help us to turn him round and see life as an ordinary dog then I'm sure we would be delighted to have you on board! Do you think you might be able to get to Treetops on a Saturday afternoon when we are there and John would be able to bring Rocky? It would be great if you could.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Ah right okay! Yes that's a little confusing but we'll get it!

Rocky is an absolutely lovely dog and we've really taken to him! We definitely think we can help with this and would be happy to be there Saturday afternoon. We may be able to help more than just one day as what is required to help Rocky will take special attention every day.

Just let us know the time and date and we will be there! Also, if there's anything we can help with during the week, feel free to let us know! One suggestion we had was to bring Rocky to us for a few hours during the day so we could work with him and help him reach his full potential.
If that is anything you would consider, feel free to let us know :)
