Well after alot of looking about and worrying about putting Beware etc I came up with the perfect solution

After a lot of searching I know have a ceramic tile with a gsd head on which says
"Cuidado con el Perro"

dont think there are too many crims that understand Spanish around my area (in fact I get asked what it means al the time lol)

Watching this thread with great interest.

I used to have a poster of my two dogs on the window saying "We live here" .. but then the burglers just ignored it and came in anyway. (they did'nt stay long and did'nt take anything, but I took it down shortly after as I was worried that advertising them might encourage dognappers. ) The door now gets chained, and double locked as Teddy goes to bed at 9pm and does not consider getting up until breakfast.

When I have foster dog dogs here I tend to put up a sign that says "Foster dog on site, temperament unknown"

a sign like this should inform people as to the dogs and hopefully not encourage dog nappers

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/I-LIVE-HERE-DOG-SIGN-WITH-YOUR-CHOSEN-IMAGE-/120521470906?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Dogs&var=&hash=item61ca036620#ht_1207wt_956

this one i find very appealing

we have this sign >
exept it say I LIVE HERE please shut the gate

Theres a home out there for every dog

I have just spoken to a solicitor who I rehomed 2 dogs to and has said that this is the best way to go

KEEP OUT

Or

KEEP OUT dogs MAY be loose with a picture of a gsd or a picture of your own gsd(s)

Preferably on a bright coloured background say fluesent

i spoke at lenght to him and his opinion is that if your dog bit with this sign or signs up for all to see its very very unlikely that the crown prosecution would prosecute you.

What I would also do IF one of my dogs bit someone who came onto my property unanounced I would phone the police to get them to come and see the signs so that the person at the time of biting might say there was no signs and That I had just put them up, assuming that the person was going to take it further.?

So who is the lucky person who is going to make a trial sign ? we may even be able to sell it via biggsd to help towards funds

Tim where are you
