See How to upload Photos
http://z10.invisionfree.com/biggsd/index.php?showtopic=6644
as you will need one to get going
1. Choose the photo you want to use
2. Copy the URL link (not the IMG code as you would for posting photos)
Posted Image
3. Go to My Controls > Personal Profile> Edit Avatar settings
4. In the white box next to Enter a URL to an online avatar image
Remove the http:// that appears in this box - then paste the URL link you copied
5. Then select Update avatar

Note - Your avatar must be no bigger than 80 pixels by 80 pixels in size, so you may need to resize in photobucket first

Hi there,
I read the help topic on adding an image into my signature, but can't seem to find 'My Controls'.... I used 'Preferences' to edit my sig and inserted the image code, preview was fine- the pic came up, but now I can't find a 'Submit' or 'Update' button to save my sig.... Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Morgan, The Viking, did my signature picture and avatar for me.

I have no idea how it is done. I too would now be interested to know how this is achieved.

I am sure that The Viking will help with this.

Well,
If you got that far...

At the bottom of the page you are looking at there, in the middle just above the [Go to top of page] link, there is a button labeled [Edit Signature]

Click [Edit Signature] and Bob's your uncle.

Sorry, my bad.

If it's the avatar picture we are talking about it's a bit trickier.
That has to be really small, from memory something like 60x90px.

Are you uploading it here or linking it to somewhere else on the net (like photobucket)?

If you can send me a link to it or the picture itself, I will check it for you.

OK,
On the edit avatar page, insert this link in the [ULR to avatar] gap, then click [Use URL avatar] and see if it works.

I cannot get the picture to come through have been backwards and forwards to photobucket and keep reading instructions on how to add avatar pic to my profile but it's just not happening. I try and upload via the broweser it tells me my pic's are too big. Also in in insruction it says in white box is this the 2nd white box which is where I have been pasting the code from photobucket, but as I say it's just not happening HELP

Although it is good to see pictures of members dogs, I sometimes find it hard to follow a thread when some peoples signatures are so big with several large pictures, particularly when their post is just a few words. Just the thoughts of a newbie.

You can turn off the signatures, it makes the threads much easier to read.

Go into your preferences (top right hand corner) then board settings and un-check Show signature.

I had to do this, there were some that did my head in,.......... :pull hair:  :pull hair:
